Document capture
uniFLOW enables secure document capture directly from Canon imageFORCE multifunction devices and Canon imageFORMULA scanners. Users authenticate at the device and access only the scan workflows relevant to their role or department. It centralizes scanning across devices and enforces access control, reducing errors and the need for training.

Personalized scan workflows
Scan workflows are tailored to each user’s role and responsibilities.
Administrators can assign workflows to individuals or groups, ensuring consistency across locations. They can define exactly what happens when a document is scanned, where it goes, how it's processed, and what metadata is captured.
Up to 12 workflow buttons can be configured on the device interface, providing quick access to the right process. Whether scanning invoices, contracts, or HR forms, users follow a guided process.

Image processing & OCR
Scanned pages are automatically de-skewed, de-speckled, rotated, and cleaned of borders. The embedded I.R.I.S. OCR engine supports 137 languages and can recognize up to 8 languages per page. It identifies text, tables, graphics, and barcodes, converting documents into searchable PDFs or editable Word/Excel files. User lexicons can be loaded to improve accuracy for industry-specific terms.

Quality & compression
uniFLOW utilizes I.R.I.S. iHQC™ technology to reduce scanned files by up to 50 times.
Hyper-compressed PDF or XPS files lessen network traffic and storage needs, especially when syncing with cloud platforms. This is crucial for organizations with limited bandwidth or those expanding their digital archives. Compression preserves image quality while significantly reducing file size.

Forms & automations
Automated barcode recognition and zonal OCR allow for structured form processing. uniFLOW detects blank pages, splits documents, and extracts data from specified areas.
It supports 1D/2D barcodes, including QR codes, Code 39, and EAN. The system can be trained to recognize various form layouts, and users can verify captured data directly on the device. This minimizes manual entry and ensures precise indexing.
Distribution & integrations
uniFLOW allows simultaneous conversion and delivery to multiple destinations. For example, a scanned invoice can be sent as a PDF to SharePoint and as an editable Word file to a finance folder. This flexibility enables organizations to use their existing infrastructure without requiring additional storage. Scanned documents can be sent via email, folders, cloud destinations, or integrated systems.

Security & compliance
Authentication, encryption, PDF/A archiving, and watermarking/bates-stamping ensure secure, compliant scanning.
Users must authenticate before scanning to prevent unauthorized access. Documents can be encrypted, certified, and archived in PDF/A format. Watermarks and bates stamps enhance traceability and ensure legal compliance, particularly in regulated industries such as healthcare and law. Watermarks can include fixed text, dynamic tokens, or user-generated content.

Unified user experience for all printing and scanning
On Canon devices, users access both scanning and printing through the same interface.
After logging in, users can select to release secure print jobs or start scan workflows. This unified experience reduces confusion, speeds up task completion, and lowers support costs. IT teams benefit from managing one consistent interface across functions.

Usability enhancements
Preview scans, repeat workflows, and validate metadata directly on the device.
Users can review scanned documents before sending them to minimize errors. They can re-run workflows to scan more documents with the same settings or send the same document to multiple destinations without rescanning. Metadata validation against company databases occurs in real time, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
